What Is the Wheel of Life?

It invites you to visualize key life domains on a circular chart, helping you see at a glance where you’re thriving and where you may need to devote more attention.

- Use a tool with a predefined online template like Miro.

- Create a spreadsheet with the domains and a rating scale.
- Draw the wheel (or a table) on a piece of paper yourself.
3. Rate Your Life in Each Domain
Section 3. Rate Your Life in Each DomainFor each domain, ask yourself: “On a scale of 1-10, how satisfied am I right now?” You can also write a sentence or two on why you chose that number.
4. Analyze Your Results
Section 4. Analyze Your Results- Look at the shape of the wheel. Is it balanced? If not, which areas need more attention?
- Identify areas where you’re thriving and where you may need to devote more attention.
- Consider what could be done to improve the areas you’re not fully satisfied with.
Tips for Effective Practice
Section Tips for Effective Practice- Think of your ideal wheel not as a perfectly equal circle, but as one that reflects your priorities. Some areas deserve more focus at different times.
- Balance evolves over time. If your wheel looks lopsided, it’s a sign, not a failure. Use it to pivot instead of punishing yourself.
- Revisit and update your wheel on a regular basis to track progress, adjust priorities, and stay accountable to your goals.
- Periodically reassess and customize your life areas to reflect changing circumstances, goals, or values rather than using a static set of slices.
